A poor hunter
Long long ago, there lived a young hunter in a mountain.
He went to the mountains with a rifle to hunt every day.
But since he was a poor hunter, he had hunted nothing yet.
One day he went hunting in a mountain as usual.
He found a bird on the branch of a tree.
“As soon as I came to the mountain, I found a game. How lucky I am!” said he, shooting his rifle. BANG!!
But as he was a poor hunter, the bullet flew toward another direction, rebounding here and there, and hit the bottom of a boar, which got so angry that it rushed toward him. TRAMP-TRAMP!!
“Help me!” cried he, climbing and climbing up a big tree, against which the boar crashed to death.
“The boar is mine. How lucky I am!!” said he and found a strong vine around a chestnut tree near by.
“With this vine I can bind the boar and carry him on my back.
How lucky I am!!!” said he and pulled the vine with might and main.
When he pulled the vine, many chestnuts fell down on him from the tree.
“These chestnuts are mine. How lucky I am!!!!” said he, filling a big bag with them.
Carrying a big boar and a big bag full of chestnuts, he got to a river, which had only a log to walk on.
“This log is so dangerous to walk on, but I can’t help crossing the river.” Said he and began to walk on it slowly.
But on the middle of it, he lost his balance and fell into the river.
“Help me!!” cried he, pulling something he touched, and succeeded in reaching the opposite bank.
It was, to his surprise, a rabbit that he pulled.
“This rabbit is mine. How lucky I am!!!!!” said he, when he found something protruding out of the ground.
He pulled and pulled it. It was a yam.
“This yam is mine. How lucky I am!!!!!!” said he, when he felt something moving in his clothes. It was a carp.
“This carp is mine. How lucky I am!!!!!!!” cried he, jumping with joy.
On his way home he passed in front of a Choja’s (Millionaire) house, when the Choja said to him.
“Mr. hunter. There is a crow on the roof, which is very noisy. Would you please shoot it with your rifle?”
“Mr. Choja. I have no bullet now, so I can’t shoot it.” said he, remembering he was poor at using his rifle.
“So I’ll lend you my bow and arrow.” said the Choja, bringing them.
Though he never used them, he had to accept his request.
“Yahh!!” cried he, praying, and pulled the bow as hard as possible and released an arrow.
But he was also poor at using the bow.
The arrow flew toward another direction.
“Ouch!!!” he heard someone cry. It was a thief who was stealing out of the storehouse of Choja’s.
To see it, the Choja said to the hunter.
“You pretended to shoot the crow, but you shot the thief. How Wonderful you are!
I do hope you’ll marry my daughter and succeed to me.”
“How lucky I am!!!!!!!!” he accepted his proposal with great joy.
He got married to the daughter of Choja’s and he was always lucky and had a happy life forever.
The end
