After I planned and implemented an ultrasonic seminar in Brazil, I received a request from distributors in each country to hold an ultrasonic seminar in each place.
Let me introduce what happened at the Indonesian seminar that I experienced.
I visited DR Kimura at Chiba University at that time and requested to go to Indonesia. The venue for the seminar in Indonesia was Bandung, the venue for the Bandung Conference held after World War II. The conference was the Asian-African Conference in 1955, hosted by independent Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, Chinese Prime Minister Zhou Enlai, Indonesian President Sukarno and Egyptian President Jawaharlal Nehru.
The seminar was held at Dr. Hasan Sadikin Central General Hospital. Dr. Kimura was a top-class doctor in the diagnosis of liver, gallbladder, and pancreas at the Japanese Society of Ultrasound. Professor Kimura gave a lecture for one hour. After that, patients who could not be diagnosed at the hospital were actually examined by ultrasonic equipment. When one patient was put to bed, the diagnosis was made within 10 minutes. Naturally, the evidence was explained to the doctors, the audience. Then, applause arose from more than 100 teachers who gathered there. Patients were diagnosed one after another. And applause arose.
However, a 12-year-old child was brought there. At this time, the venue was unusually quiet. The doctors at this hospital knew how serious the child was. Dr. Kimura made an ultrasound diagnosis, told the doctors at the venue, then brought a large syringe and injected it into the liver of his abdomen. Dr. Kimura quietly sucked something out. Dr. Kimura raised the sucked object high and explained. At that moment, a big cheer went up, and the doctors who were there stood up with applause. Doctors seemed to say that this was too great. That night, after dinner, I had Dr. Kimura explain what happened today.
Dr. Kimura explained to me in an easy-to-understand manner.
“I’ve only read it in medical research papers, that is, a disease called amoeba liver abscess, in which amoeba enters the liver and eats it. If you suck out the chocolate-colored abscess, the disease will be completely cured. The moment I suck out the abscess with a syringe, it means that the boy was saved. That moment is very moving. It was a moment. I was very excited too. ”
Dr. Kimura says.
“Thank you, Mr. Sato, for giving me this opportunity.”
It is Kimura-sensei’s style to thank me.
Note) The above picture was taken together with Michio Watanabe, the Minister of Finance at that time, when we went to Kintamani Mountain in Bali, Indonesia. Kimura-sensei is on the far left.
